Therapeutic Coaching

Harness the Power of Therapeutic Coaching for Transformational Change

What is therapeutic coaching?

Therapeutic coaching is a practice that integrates aspects of therapeutic techniques with the goal-focused approach of coaching. It aims to help individuals achieve their goals while also addressing emotional blocks and underlying issues that may be hindering their progress. This approach goes beyond traditional coaching, which often centres on goal-setting, problem solving and action planning, to include a deeper focus on inner healing and emotional awareness. This dual focus allows clients to make lasting changes by addressing the deeper, often subconscious issues that contribute to their behaviours, beliefs, and self-image.

Diagram showing the three elements of coaching

We believe that all coaching potentially has three core elements:

Skills development – A focus on the acquisition and refinement of specific skills or competencies.

Problem Solving – this element of coaching is designed to help individuals navigate specific challenges or obstacles they face in their personal or professional lives.

Transformation  – this goes beyond the development of skills or the resolution of specific problems. It is about fostering deep, lasting personal growth and change.

All coaching involves at least one, and a lot of coaching includes the first two, however most coaches do not have the skills and training to support their clients to work at the deeper level that is required to truly transform.

If you want to know more, you can find out more about these three elements in a blog post we have written here.

The therapeutic coaching that we offer combines all three. It integrates deeper therapeutic techniques with the more goal focused approach of coaching.  This allows us to work both at a surface, practical, problem-solving level at the same time as addressing the deeper, often subconscious blocks that are contributing to your challenges.

This approach typically results in more transformational, long-term change than traditional coaching and is particularly effective for tackling stubborn issues that have been bothering you for some time including (but not limited to) confidence, anxiety, people pleasing, or challenges with anger.

All of our coaches that offer therapeutic coaching have been trained as coaches, and have additional therapeutic training (such as developmental trauma, psychotherapy or CBT) to give them the skills to work with clients at a deeper level.

Is it right for me?

Therapeutic coaching is ideal for people who feel ready to make changes in their lives but realise that they may be held back by recurring emotional patterns, negative self talk or limiting beliefs.

It is particularly effective for people who may have tried traditional coaching but found that it didn’t go deep enough to tackle the underlying causes of their challenges.

It can be helpful for those facing transitions or long-standing challenges such as:

– Overcoming Self-Limiting Beliefs:  People struggling with negative self-talk or low self-worth can benefit from the self-awareness and confidence-building aspects of therapeutic coaching.

 –  Navigating Life or Career Transitions:  Therapeutic coaching is well-suited for major life changes, such as career shifts, divorce, or retirement. These transitions often bring up deep-seated fears and insecurities that therapeutic coaching can help address.

–  Healing from Past Experiences:  Therapeutic coaching can help individuals process and heal from past experiences that continue to impact their present lives.

–  Connecting to Purpose:  Clients who feel disconnected from their current goals or purpose, or who want to pursue a more authentic path can benefit from the value-based goal-setting process in therapeutic coaching.

Does it have to be work-based?

No, absolutely not!

Unlike traditional coaching, your coach can work with you on work or personal-based challenges – or both.  We find that regardless of whether our clients come to us with work or personal challenges we always end up discussing both as it is common for the same issue to be showing up both in and outside of work.

How much does it cost?

We offer our therapeutic coaching in packages of six virtual one-hour sessions.  We don’t do one-off sessions or shorter packages to ensure that there is enough time to build trust between the coach and the client and for you to have time to notice changes.

The cost for the package is £900 (incl VAT).  We charge £450 upfront and the remainder after 3 sessions.

You are of course able to book additional packages of six once your initial sessions are complete.

I like the sound of that, what next?
